Terms of Service

TapMyCar is operated by Praman Tech LLC, a Connecticut limited liability company ("TapMyCar," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using our service, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you don't agree, don't use the service. Please read Sections 2, 8, 12, and 13 carefully — they limit our liability and explain risks you accept.

1. What TapMyCar does

TapMyCar provides physical and digital tags (NFC + QR stickers or printable eTags) that let strangers reach you privately through our masked-calling system. When someone scans your tag, they can place a voice call to you without ever seeing your real phone number. You can screen every call before answering.

2. Not an emergency service

TapMyCar is not an emergency service and must not be relied on in an emergency. If you are in an accident or face any situation involving injury, immediate danger, or crime, call 911 (or your local emergency number) directly. We do not guarantee that any call will connect, that anyone will answer, or that a message will be received or acted upon. Never use a TapMyCar tag or masked call in place of emergency services.

3. Accounts

To use TapMyCar, you must be 18 or older and able to enter a binding contract, and you must provide accurate information. You are responsible for keeping your account access secure. You agree not to share your account with others.

4. Pricing and billing

  • Free eTag: $0. Digital-only tag. Masked calls are disabled until you pay to activate.
  • Activation: A one-time $1 fee activates your tag. At activation you choose your plan — Standard or Premium — and by activating you agree to that plan. Activation gives you a 30-day period to experience the full service. You may cancel anytime within those 30 days; if you cancel, no further charges are made. If you do not cancel, the plan you chose proceeds automatically as described below.
  • Standard plan: If you started from a $1 activation: on day 30 your physical sticker ships and your card is charged $9.99 for it, and on day 60 your $9.99/year annual subscription begins and renews yearly. If you purchase Standard directly (without the $1 activation): you are charged $9.99 today for the sticker, and your $9.99/year annual subscription begins on day 30.
  • Premium plan: If you started from a $1 activation: on day 30 your 3 physical stickers ship and your card is charged $24.99 for them, and on day 60 your $19.99/year annual subscription begins and renews yearly. If you purchase Premium directly: you are charged $24.99 today for the 3 stickers, and your $19.99/year annual subscription begins on day 30. Premium includes 3 gift codes for family members to register their own account under your subscription.
  • Prepay option: at checkout you may choose to prepay your first annual fee. This pushes your next recurring charge out by 365 days.
  • Automatic renewal: annual subscriptions renew automatically on the anniversary of your first annual charge. We send you a renewal reminder email before each charge.
  • Business plan: $49/month, arranged by contacting us directly at support@tapmycar.io.

5. Cancellation and refunds

  • You can cancel your subscription anytime from the Settings page.
  • Cancellation stops future charges.
  • Physical stickers are non-refundable once shipped, as each sticker is uniquely coded to your account and cannot be resold.
  • Annual subscription fees are refundable within 14 days of the annual charge. Outside that window, they are non-refundable but you can still cancel to stop future renewals.
  • The $1 activation fee is refundable only if you cancel before day 30.
  • Upon cancellation, your tag(s) are disabled — strangers who scan will see "Tag inactive."
  • For Premium: if the main buyer cancels, all family members' tags are also disabled.

6. Tag authenticity and verification

Always confirm a tag is genuine using the Verify feature — it checks that the tag is a registered TapMyCar tag. If a tag does not verify, treat it with caution and do not rely on it. The Verify feature confirms only that a tag is a registered TapMyCar tag; it is not a guarantee of any person's identity or intentions. Use normal caution when contacting or meeting anyone.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to use TapMyCar for harassment, stalking, spam, fraud, impersonation, or any illegal purpose, and not to interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that abuses the service, with or without notice.

8. Your interactions with others; assumption of risk

TapMyCar only connects a caller to a vehicle owner through a masked phone line. We do not screen, verify, supervise, or vouch for any user, and we are not a party to — and take no responsibility for — any communication, interaction, dispute, transaction, or in-person meeting that results from use of the service. You are solely responsible for your own conduct and for how you choose to respond to anyone who contacts you, and you use the service at your own risk. If you experience harassment, threats, or other abuse, stop engaging and report it to us at support@tapmycar.io; we may suspend or remove offending accounts and cooperate with law enforcement, but we cannot guarantee any particular outcome.

9. Calls, masked numbers, and recording

Masked calls are carried over third-party telephone networks and our telephony provider. To connect a call, we process both your number and the caller's number; neither party's real number is shown to the other. We do not record the audio content of masked calls. We do not guarantee call quality, connectivity, or that any call will be delivered, and your carrier's charges may apply. When someone scans your tag, we ask them to identify themselves before connecting, we show them a notice explaining that your personal information is not shared with them, and we log the scan so you know when and where your vehicle was contacted.

10. Communications consent

By creating an account, you consent to receive electronic communications from us, including service and transactional messages (order confirmations, renewal reminders, scan and account alerts) by email. We will send marketing or promotional text messages only if you separately opt in, and you can withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP to a text or by emailing support@tapmycar.io. Message and data rates may apply.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

TapMyCar is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service or that masked calls will always connect. As stated in Section 2, we are not a substitute for emergency services.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of TapMyCar is limited to the greater of $100 or the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill.

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify Praman Tech LLC (operating as TapMyCar) and its owners and employees from any claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your misuse of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

14. Third-party service providers

TapMyCar relies on the service providers below, and by using the service you also agree to their terms where applicable: Stripe (payments), Twilio (masked calling and text messaging), Supabase (database and storage), Vercel (hosting), Google / Firebase (push notifications and the in-app AI assistant), Resend (email delivery), and Cloudflare (DNS, security, and email routing).

15. Physical stickers — shipping and handling

Physical stickers ship within 2-3 business days within the United States. Delivery typically takes 3-7 business days. We do not currently ship internationally. If your sticker does not arrive within 14 days, email us and we'll ship a replacement. You are responsible for placing tags lawfully and safely, including not obstructing your view or violating any vehicle or traffic regulation.

16. Emergency-contact feature (Premium only)

Premium users may optionally designate an emergency contact who receives calls if you don't answer within 3 rings. The emergency contact must consent to this arrangement. We are not responsible for failure of the emergency-contact system in any specific situation. This feature is a convenience and is not a substitute for emergency services; in an emergency, call 911.

17. Referrals

When you refer a friend who signs up and purchases a paid plan, you earn rewards (currently $3 credit for the first referral, and a "choice reward" — free plan year or $4.99 coupon — for additional referrals). Abuse of the referral system (fake accounts, self-referrals, spam) results in forfeiture of rewards.

18. Termination

You can close your account at any time from the Settings page. We can suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your tags are disabled and your subscription is cancelled.

19. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Hartford County, Connecticut, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

20. General terms

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Praman Tech LLC regarding the service and supersede any prior agreements. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control. Section headings are for convenience only. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including Sections 8, 11, 12, 13, 14, 19, and 20 — will survive.

21. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or a prominent in-app notice. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent version. Continued use after a change means you accept the new Terms.
